Hello I'm Talia!
Head photographer, editor, media manager, accountant, and well...you get it...I wear many hats. I'm also a single mom to the sweetest little girl! In my free time, I love listening to music, taking my daughter to the park, and getting together with friends. I also enjoy planting flowers and I would love to have a large cut flower garden eventually. It's a dream...hopefully not tooo far off.
I believe your moments are worth capturing! It's all about you! I'm here to partner with you! I don't want to just be your photographer, but an artist ready to help you tell your story through photos. I not only capture love stories, but I specialize in creating authentic, romantic, and timeless images that you'll cherish for years to come. I love to travel and will go wherever your love takes us.
My photography journey started in high school when I took a photography class to get extra credit. I had a handheld camera that was hot pink and fell in love with the art of caturing photos. After that I decided photography was a hobby I wanted to invest time in. I found a Nikon Camera for $100 (Crazy! I KNOW!!) at a yard sale one day and that camera carried me through my first 5 years of photography. I then took photography classes and worked my way from photographing friends for fun, to charging a small fee to strangers for mini sessions or family sessions.
In 2018, I started a photography page and made a website under the name of That's Darling Photography. I started taking clients and did maturnity, family, children, and newborn sesssions. That slowly grew and I added portrait sessions and events. I got my first BRAND NEW camera in 2020 with the fancy lenses and bag (and felt soooo professional). This really helped me switch my photography career to a business, instead of just a hobby. I started branding my business and advertising more to grow a bigger clientel. At this point photography was a weekend thing (I worked as a music teacher- which is what I actually have a degree in) and I did dream of making it a full time gig. This was the same year I got married to my bestie and he was very supportive of me pursuing my dreams, regardless of where they took me.
In 2022, I got pregnant with my daughter and decided to stop teaching and make the shift to full time photography. I started moving towards engagement sessions and weddings. I book 3 weddings for 2023 and was able to do 2 of them before giving birth to the most precious little girl. I used my "maturnity leave" (Which was me giving myself the time I needed) to work on my website and rebrand my site to GTZ Photography. My husband and I decided that we were going to start the journey in the wedding biz as photographer and videographer. However, later that year my husband passed away unexpectably.
After months of going back and forth (and many, many prayers) I felt that God was still calling me to continue the original plan of capturing moments for clients, especially brides and grooms. I feel that I have a new take on what a picture actually means. It's not just something to hang on your wall or use as your phones background. It's a moment in time. A second, a fleeting moment we won't get back. It allows us to freeze time and see the emotions that were present at that time. Photography isn't just a job, it's a passion. I want to freeze moments for people. I want to allow them to see the smiles, the tiny baby hands, the happy moments that we don't want to forget.
I am thankful for photography in my life. The moments I captured, the seconds I can't get back. I want others to have that as well and I make it my goal to provide clients with pictures that are timeless and full of stories. Regardless of the season of life you're in, every moment deserves to be captured.
So let's make memories together.
Yours truely,
Talia Gutierrez
