Dessertssss...

Writer: Talia GallagherTalia Gallagher

Hello friends!

It’s been a few days! I know I kept up on the blog pretty consistently last week, but I guess this week has been a little different. I’ve been trying to stay off of social media as much as possible. I’ve done this because I‘m trying to spend more time with family (plus, sitting at home all day looking at yummy food on Instagram just makes me hungry...all day long). It’s also been very uneventful on my end, so there really hasn’t been much to talk about. I’m not sure about y’all, but things have started to repeat as I began settling into this new routine. My day consists of laundry, cooking, cleaning, exercising, and spending time outside. These past few days have been beautiful, so I’ve been outside quite a lot.

Today was slightly different, because we made a cute, easy dessert. It broke up the day quite nicely and was really fun. So many people on social media have been posting cute crafts or desserts, so why not jump on the bandwagon, right? I’m not normally someone who posts on social media because someone else “told” me to (such as those nomination posts). However, I’ve found myself doing quite a few of those “challenges” during this quarantine. So far, I’ve done the push-up challenge...which was not fun for me...the GIF challenges, and one or two of the question challenges that asks you to post if you get the answer incorrect. To be honest, they were actually pretty fun! So, posting some cute desserts was just the next step I guess. Maybe I’ll post a craft here pretty soon, it just all depends on how long we‘re all stuck at home. If you have any ideas for cute crafts or desserts let me know! I’d be happy to try them out and may even post the finished product on the blog!

Today, the dessert was chocolate and graham cracker covered marshmallows. They were so fun to make (and fun to photograph after! You know me, always trying to get those great pictures!). It was also a great mother/daughter project. Below is the recipe if you dessert lovers want to make your own! I’ll also have pictures of them at the end so you can see what they looked like! I feel like I can‘t duplicate anything without a picture, but maybe that’s just me.

Chocolate/Graham Cracker Marshmallows

Ingredients:

  • Large Marshmallows

  • Vanilla flavored melting chocolate

  • Chocolate flavored melting chocolate

  • Graham Crackers

  • Skewers

Steps:

  • Smash graham crackers into small pieces or crumbs

  • Stick skewers into flat side of marshmallows

  • Melt first chocolate

  • dip marshmallows and fully cover in one of the chocolates (either vanilla or chocolate)

  • Melt second chocolate

  • once dry, dip marshmallow half way into the second chocolate (the flavor you didn’t use before)

  • While second layer of chocolate is still wet, roll it in graham crackers (cover well)

  • Let dry for 10 minutes

  • Enjoy!!!

If you do end up making some, let me know! I’d love to see them. Message me on Instagram or comment a picture on this post!

Well, have fun crafting, creating, cooking, and Instagram challenging!

Bye for now amigos!

Talia
