FAMILY FUN!

Wanting to do a family photo shoot, but don’t know what to wear? Never fear! Here are some handy dandy tips to help you!

Color is Key.

Pick three to four colors that go together. Look at the different tones and color families for inspiration.

Here are some examples:

Pastels:

Earth Tones:

Purple Tones (or any other color tones):

YOU were born to stand out.

Make sure that you all have matching tones, not matching clothes or colors. Once you pick your color theme, coordinate with each other. This will allow everyone to like similar, but not identical.

Thanks for the complement.

Use complementary colors to help with your decisions. Complementary colors are the colors that are exactly across from each other on the color wheel. For example, yellow is directly across from dark purple. Picking accessories that are complementary to clothing can be a great way to get a pop of color in children’s outfits.

Camouflage.

Monochromatic colors are the shades, tones, and tints that are all in single hue. If you know the colors of the location of your choice, use the different hues in that color scale. This allows the focus to rest on the face. For example, if you were having your pictures taken at the beach, with blue water, you would use the different shades of blue (darker to lighter) as your clothing options.

Make it pop.

If you are wanting to wear neutral colors, but want something to stand out, be sure to wear something with a pop of color. Normally, adding one to two bright colors to a neutral outfit will really make it stand out. Try wearing bright colored jewelry or shoes as your pop of color. This is a great way to coordinate with the rest of the family as well.

In Conclusion.

Regardless of what color you decide to wear, have fun with it and be yourself! You never want to wear something to a photoshoot that makes you feel uncomfortable or out of place. You want to keep it as natural to YOU as possible. So if you don't like wearing bright colors and tend to wear neutrals in your normal day-to-day life, then don't change it up for your photo session. You'll love your photos more if you feel comfortable in your clothing!

Until next time friends! Have a blessed week!
